About the role

In this role, you’ll help define and deploy strategies across multiple technologies that optimize the 3PM network to ensure supply reliability, quality, and cost improvement programs, while enabling 3PM-based innovation. You’ll establish strong supplier relationships to effectively manage the category supply base, perform advanced and intricate negotiations, and oversee supplier selection, onboarding and offboarding of key suppliers.  Bring your strong Procurement skills, a ‘can-do’ attitude and ability to build relationships internally and externally to deliver strong results for the AMET region. 

About the Team/Department

The Associate Manager will report to the Contract Manufacturing Procurement Portfolio Manager EMEA.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the delivery of AMET 3PM (Third Party Manufacturing) commitments of Cost, Cash, Supplier Reduction, Compliance, Quality, Customer Service, Delivered Profit, and Sales Growth
  • Partner with regional supply chain leadership team to develop/deploy mid-long-term network and technologies’ strategies to drive performance, improve cost competitiveness, and reduce complexity.
  • Lead go-to-market activities (RFI/RFPs) focused on new product developments, total cost of ownership, technical capabilities, and operational effectiveness.
  • Own the commercial relationship and development of strategic partnerships with 3PMs.
  • Lead the development, negotiation, and execution of supply contracts & pricing negotiation strategies.
  • Point of escalation for supply related issues, developing governance to monitor performance and drive issue resolution.
  • Lead/support cross functional value engineering and teardown programs to optimize product cost structure.
  • Partner with regional supply chain strategy on defining priority segments sourcing model and resiliency plans.
  • Partner with Research, Development, Engineering, and the global/regional marketing team to develop programs for 3PM-based innovation.
  • Support data analytics, rollup of metrics and other reporting for global contract manufacturing.

Experience you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in Procurement
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
  • Full proficiency in speaking, writing, and reading English.

Behaviors you’ll need:

  • Experienced in development and management of contractual relations with external manufacturers.
  • Excellent communication skills to describe problems, coordinate people and meetings to resolve issues and ability to build and maintain relationships both internally and externally, at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and manage results including business knowledge needed to achieve business targets.
  • Analytical mindset, with good finance and cost saving understanding.
  • Capability to focus on delivering requested service to internal customers.
  • Continuous improvement mindset focused on optimization and capabilities upgrade.
  • Work experience in a multinational environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience with contract manufacturing procurement or direct material procurement preferred.
  • Broader Supply Chain Experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of FMCG business
  • MS skills (Excel / Word / Power Point) and SAP knowledge.
  • Operate well in a highly demanding fast paced organization and ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities.
  • Proficient problem-solving skills and ability to navigate difficult situations, assess risks, and build contingency plans to minimize business disruption.
  • Travel 10% -15%, depending on business needs.
  • Able to work virtually in a matrix organization.
